Bajnai calls PM Orbán for public debate

Gordon Bajnai, Hungary's former Prime Minister and head of the Together 2014 opposition movement, has challenged current PM Viktor Orbán to a live public debate. "At least Orbán should stand out face to face and tell with his own words his lies and he should abide if somebody faces him with the truth" - Together 2014 wrote in the press release. The ruling Fidesz has issued a statement saying that they reject the call, and Bajnai should rather discuss with the Hungarian people  than debating with the Prime Minister.

Matolcsy to be the next governor of the Central Bank – Világgazdaság says

Hungarian Economy Minister György Matolcsy will be Hungary's next central bank (NBH) chief, Hungarian business daily Világgazdaság reported on its website on Tuesday evening. Matolcsy's successor in the Ministry will be Mihály Varga, Hungary's chief aid negotiator. The Hungarian currency, the Forint has immediately started to retreat.
