Pensioners of Újpest (Budapest's 4th district) received a package of potatoes for free from the local government. The package came with an information leaflet about the upcoming referendum.

The former Prime Minister talks about the presence of Russian spies in Hungary in the book that was published on the 10th anniversary of his Őszöd-speech. "Around 600-800 people are working for the KGB (Russian Committee for State Security) today in Hungary – our experts say. It is quite lot." He added that the number of KGB agents was about half of this when he was Prime Minister." Gyurcsány talked about Fidesz top ranking officals involved in the leaking of the Őszöd speech. He says that the present system will collapse one day and it will have a sobering effect on the nation. With anti-refugee sentiment running high in Hungary, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has succeeded in shoring up support for his Fidesz party. Now, as Hungary prepares to hold what many consider to be a pointless anti-refugee referendum on October 2, some politicians are suggesting that Orbán may use a successful referendum to call for early elections. One such suggestion was made by Democratic Coalition chairman and former prime minister Ferenc Gyurcsány at a town hall forum in Újpest last Friday, reports Index.hu.
