The chairman of DK (Democratic Coalition) said the following in his State of the Nation speech: he cannot leave without comment the fact that "upon invitation of an unsolicited kingmaker, MSZP (Socialist Party), Párbeszéd (Dialogue Party), Együtt (Together Party) as well as László Botka (prime ministerial candidate of MSZP) entered into secret negotiations behind DK's back.
The replacement of government is not a hobby, not a game, it is not the amusement of an ageing man deserving a better future who wants others to see him as a smart and independent public writer"
Zsolt Gréczy, spokesman of DK did not keep us in suspense for too long about who that mysterious kingmaker could be, in a Facebook post he disclosed the identity of the "public writer", who "tries to force out Ferenc Gyurcsány, in particular, from any opposition cooperation, from the political map of Hungary after 2018". The spokesman named László Lengyel, chairman and CEO of Pénzügykutató Zrt. (Financial Research Ltd.) is this person.
Early Monday, the executive vice-president of DK, Csaba Molnár was a guest in the morning program "ATV Start" of TV channel ATV, who confirmed the news information as to László Lengyel contacting Péter Niedermüller, EU Parliament member of DK with a plan to disrupt DK from inside.
In reply to a question of atv.hu, László Lengyel acknowledged that he had spoken with Péter Niedermüller, but "from this point on nothing else that was said in this context was true ".
About the public life role of Ferenc Gyurcsány, László Lengyel thinks that he should have disappeared from the stage of politics a long time ago; on the other hand, his party and voters shall remain important components of the left-wing politics. In his role as the chairman and CEO, he says, he does not make part of any combination or any disruption attempt and he does not understand, why DK does not negotiate with Botka if it wants to do so.
