The head of Momentum Movement (MoMo) Mr. András Fekete-Győr had harsh words for socialist Member of European Parliament (MEP) Mr. Tibor Szanyi. Mr. Fekete-Győr said that Hungary needs politicians who take action instead of just holding press conferences at the venues of the NOlympics campaign.
MEP Szanyi held his press conference at a campaign stop of the movement at the Nyugati railway station and he was surprised by the movement head Mr. Fekete-Győr who gave him a block of signature sheets in the middle of his speech. Mr. Fekete-Győr asked the socialist politician to collect signatures instead of making statements. Afterwards the socialist MEP said that he could give a helping hand only to someone who was open to be supported. The movement published an edited video on Facebook about the altercation. Later the socialist politician wrote a detailed Facebook post about what he thought had really happened. According to a summary of all signatures until last Sunday seventy thousand people already signed the initiative to hold a local referendum on hosting the Olympic Games in Budapest.
