Mr Gyurcsány cannot return the flattering remarks he received from Fidesz politician Lajos Kósa. Mr Kósa praised the former PM saying that he was the only honest politician amongst the opposition, because he warned that he wouldn't support neither the referendum, nor the amendment of the constitution.
According to Mr Gyurcsány, the prime minister was weakened severely by the consecutive losses of both the referendum and the amendment, and it would be in the interest of the country to hold an election, although he did not see too much of a chance of an early election. Mr Gyurcsány also warned that the Liberal Party, which has practically no base amongst the people, should not be considered as a reliable partner in the oppositional alliance. "The Liberals are lacking honesty and a sense of strategical thinking, which disqualifies them from being reliable partners"-the former PM said.
