The MSZP is not able to relieve alone the actual government, as the party has not enough support for it – stated László Kovács, the former socialist president in a radio show.
According to the former foreign minister and party leader, this government could be overcome if the right-wing democrats would also participate in the collaboration, then the prime ministerial candidate could be a widely-accepted, recognized specialist and not a party politician. He added: there are similar examples in the region.
László Kovács talked about the failure of the collaboration in 2014, for which the reasons were the following:
"Attila Mesterházy insisted on being the candidate for Prime Minister, contrary to Gordon Bajnai, who was much more appropriate for the position than him." The FreeHungary reported on this fact earlier.
To the question of whether he could imagine Gergely Karácsony, the co-president of the Párbeszéd as a prime ministerial candidate for the next election, he answered: He could imagine so, but he would not like to make a guess, it is also possible that a man, whose name is not famous yet, would be the probable candidate.
